30s Echoes are recordings F.O. Brown produced in his home from 1932 to 1937. Some were BBC radio broadcasts, others recordings of family and friends.
I believe the recordings were produced using the EKCO Radiocorder. This ingenious device attached to a "Radiogram" and transcribed an amplified modulated electrical signal onto aluminium disc, either from a tuner or a microphone.
With advice from the British Sound Library, I have digitised my grandad's recordings for presentation on this site. Broadcasts include royal speeches, talks, news broadcasts and music performances, all original and many unique.
